Third and final volume of Robinson's Mars trilogy: The first settlers still live their same old lives after having gone through longevity treatments and unfortunately the story starts dragging on the same way. The bombastic plot of the war for independence from earth partially make up for the lengthy descriptions of personal relationships and scientific hard facts.

Dritter und letzter Teil von Robinson's Mars Trilogie: Die ersten Siedler leben dank lebensverlängernder Behandlung immer noch, was die ganze Erzählung doch sehr ermüdend wirkend lässt. Der packend erzählte Krieg um die Unabhängigkeit von der Erde ist eine kleine Wiedergutmachung für die langatmigen Beschreibungen persönlicher Schicksale und wissenschaftlicher Details.
