bittersweet.three novels in one, old-styled and a bit passe, but good nevertheless. more adventure-like than hard sf, but , being ben bova, a lot is forgiven :)
the story is that of the long flight of a rather small group of scientists in search of a safe-haven on another planet. they spend quite some time at it and in the end do reach safety... but not just as they thought.
