For 20 cents, it was worth trying a new author. Turns out this was the third in a series, which didn't help the build up of the romance. Too much was going on in this story; the author incorporated almost every typical device of a romance (children, orphans, kidnapping, illness/injury, spies, misunderstanding, megalomanic father). I'd prefer a simpler story with more devoted to character development.
