Breakfast at Tiffany's
4 journalers for this copy...
Holly Golightly is generally up all night drinking cocktails and breaking hearts. She hasn't got a past. She doesn't want to belong to anything or anyone, not even to her one-eyed rag-bag pirate of a cat. One day Holly might find somewhere she belongs.
Vai ser enviado para a Syrin em breve como Rabck senão houver candidatos a bookray.

This is one of those books where I've heard about the story, about the chacracters, about the movie, but never had a chance to read. Well, finally I did, thanks to aneca.
"Breakfast at Tiffany's" was pretty much what I expected: it's a book clearly set in its date, which makes it a bit dated for 2005, but still worth reading. And the last scene of the story, Holly running after the cat, that's just classical.
The big surprise came with the 3 short stories also in the book, I loved them, especially the second one. It takes a lot of skill to write good short stories, and these ones are really good!
Thanks for the RABCK, aneca!

Arrived in the mail today. Thanks syrin. Will be read in 2006 and then pass on.
A girl who broke hearts and influenced everyone she came in contact with. I couldn't make up my mind as to Holly's character being a total airhead or a 21st Century Woman before her time. Certainly the language and imagery was dated.
I enjoyed Capote's writing style, the way he describes characters and situations. This is especially true in one of the other stories in the book "The Diamond Guitar".
Will keep this moving as per Holly's characteristic.

Truman Capote has a magical way of describing his characters to make them come alive. This collection of stories was very good holiday reading material. Having seen the film (who hasn't?), I found it interesting to see how the title story differed - and it does, considerably! Both are masterpieces in their own ways.
Many thanks again molekilby!
