This is my first graphic novel. I bought it because my daughter said it was good. I'll read it and give it to her since the one she read was a library book.

My mama, thnxandyc, sent me this book after I raved to her about it. It's phenomenal. What Satrapi manages to accomplish with simple black and white drawings illustrating a complex story told in the voice of a child is truly astounding. This is the kind of history they never teach in American schools... but this is a story everyone should know. I cannot recommend this book highly enough! It's entertaining, informative, charming, horrifying, and a hundred other things besides. There is also a sequel, called simply 'Persepolis 2', which is equally good and worth checking out.
