I was handed this book a few days ago by my mother who asked me to read it so that we could talk about it. I am almost finished and quite impressed. I will be able to further comment once I have read it completely. I do think there is something to it though.
Honestly an incredible book. The concepts Fuller rights about are solid and understandable, though his wording is a bit overeducated for a reader like myself. I think his years in academia may have caused a bit of a disconect from the realities of being a "nobody" at such a low level. The sentiment, though, is quite genuine and not out of touch. My only reason for rating lower than a 10 was the use of words that may "nobody" many readers with which I personally will share these concepts. An old saying - something about using a $2 word when a 10 cent word would do the trick (or something to that effect anyway).
Overall I loved it and have preordered his next book "All Rise". I can't help but to think of "NOBODY" shirts to help spread the word. I have been talking to everyone about this book and it amazes me (or maybe just annoys me) that the nobodies all seem to get it and the somebodies can't seem to get a clue. Actually, I only ran into two "Somebodies" to whom the concept of rankism seemed simply humorous at best.
Peace!
