I really liked this Oprah's Book Club selection. Set in Gap Creek, a small rural community in a valley in South Carolina, this book brings Julie Harmon, its heroine, to life. Robert Morgan does a great job of getting you into Julie's mind and showing the trials and tribulations of being a poor, young mountain girl.
