The Blackwater Lightship: A Novel

This is so good! It's a dead-on recounting of the intergenerational themes, the push and pull of needs expressed, needs met, and needs unmet...the way the child informs the adult, and people either make peace with the parent they had and the childhood they had, or they don't. Told through the lens of a woman dealing with her brother's AIDS and facing that his 'family' were his friends.

Received today. Thanks!
Well written, but grim as hell. Not exactly a light, cheerful read. Still, the characterizations were good, but I thought the ending was a little bit simplistic.
