The Fountainhead

I found the book hard to get into at first; lots of descrption, not much dialogue to break it up. This isn't a quick read. But, it is a great book, especially if you are into philosophy or architecture.
The story is fairly simple, the hero, Howard Roark, is considered a social misfit because he doesn't pay attention to social mores. The book takes jabs at public opinion, pop culture, organized religion, even socialism. The book reminded me a lot of Nietzsche's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra," another work of fiction that supports a philosophy.
Don't worry, it's not as essoteric as all that. It does raise some interesting questions.
Enjoy.
