Received this today. I never win anything! I'd like to thank the Academy...and, of course, Lucybrown.
Reserved for Bumma after I've read.
It was fun to revisit Jane's immortal characters, but unfortunately, without Jane to animate them, they're rather like puppets being made to dance than real people with real emotions and motivations.
I've reserved this for Bumma, a Janeite of long-standing.

Sending on to Bumma! I hope you enjoy it!
"Pemberly" just arrived in the mail!! I can't wait to read bout the further a adventures of Mr and Mrs Darcy and their family and friends. Thank you so much FSR44.
Yes, I enjoyed it as a Regency novel with no associiation to "Pride and Predjudice.
The two novels share charactrs with same names but, oh, what a difference. Leaden writing, no witticisms, no insight into characters' motivations, make this for a Janite hard to take.
I will release it Jane's birthday, as part of the JA challenge.

Picked this up at Bookcrossing meetup at Port City Java over the weekend. I have to get my hands on the original (Pride and Prejudice) before reading this though.
Being as I've not yet gotten a chance to find and read P+P itself, I've been putting off getting into this one - I've been hanging onto it for a while now though so going to set it as available in case anyone else wants it as I have no clue when I'll get around to it!
