It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.

I received this book when we put on the play in school. It's the original, timeless, tragic love story.

[I had wanted to play the Nurse, but I ended up being Mercutio. Romeo was female, too. We didn't have very many males in the play.]

Man. I received this book a long friggin time ago...I've been loafting on it ever since. I work at the Starbucks where the previous person had left it. The other workers had placed it into one of the drawers at work (the one where we keep the whipped cream chargers), and I was the one who fished it out and saw the BookCrossing note inside.

I took it home with me. I have a fascination for other people's things, diaries, notes that people have written, blogs, etc. Last year I made my first student short film, entitled "Found". It was about the same theme of picking up other people's objects, the fascination of picking up pieces of their lives or thought processes.

At the time, I had just started going out with this wonderful girl (almost two years now!). We went on a trip to downtown Toronto, where sat by City Hall and ate hotdogs, mine with just ketchup, hers plain as concrete (and tasting about as good, I'd bet).

I pulled out the book and showed it to her. We both thought it was such a great idea...picking up a book that means something to you, and passing it along through the world. Letting people post up notes about what it meant to them (if it did), and what they did with it.

We had one of our first great conversations that day. The book became a catalyst to talk about people, art, life, and the future. About our connection to the world around us. We learned a lot about each other that day.

It's kind of appropriate the book left for me was Romeo & Juliet, since it figures so strongly into the beginning of this wonderful relationship.

I have not read the exact book, since I have read it many years before.

I've held onto it for a long time for sentimental values. But now I'ma pass it along, so it can enjoy its life as book-crosser. Or whatever. LOL.

peace all, and thanks joyce.
