Wicked : The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West

I'd be hard pressed to find something nice or good to say about this book to make someone want to read it. I slogged through it (as did my roommmate and my mom) and I have NO idea how such a good musical was made out of such a piece of drivel. I've read books where the main characters weren't terribly likeable, but in this book it's worse - I just didn't care about any of the characters or what happened to them.
So why am I setting this book free? Well, maybe somebody out there will like it better than we did - as apparently most reviewers did.

Thankyou for sending me this book!!!
Received it yesterday, & hope to start reading it this weekend.
9/28/04 started reading the book on Friday night (9/24) am currently about a third of the way through it. Currently it's an ok read, not brilliant but not unreadable either.
9/30/04 finished the book this morning, 1st part of the book was interesting & an easy read, later sections seemed to drag or the plotline jumped around a bit too much.
The book was readable, it's not the most brilliant book I've read...... I would like to read The Wizard of OZ (only seen the film) & compare the two books.
As i've already mentioned I enjoyed the start of the book, the story had my attention but on finishing the book I felt empty, i didn't like the way it was resolved/concluded. Something didn't feel right.
Overall I think if you've got the time & are curious, give the book a chance, just to get a different perspective on a familiar story.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
RELEASE NOTES:
This is one of several books that I had shipped over via m-bag when I moved back to Australia. As yet the play has never hit the Aussie stages, it'll be intersting to see if a production is ever developed.
Releasing the book to a fellow BX'r ......... enjoy!
