I purchased this boxed set of 10 Penguin 60's from ebay. I'm thrilled with the purchase and can't wait to read the range of literature it contains.

At first I really disliked this book as the concept of someone trudging into a war they had very little do with from a country they were safe in really irked me. The outrageous sense of involvement the author had felt when people had struggled to actually remove them from the situation initially rankled. I did move to a less angered position however and was sufficiently interested in the events as described to consider persuing the story further. A youth's moment of madness, I shouldn't be so harsh - it's not like I haven't done some stupid things myself even if marching over the Pyrenees into someone elses war isn't one of them.

Inkognitoh knew I like Penguin 60s, so when she contacted me to offer me a couple, it wasn’t an enormous surprise. I did think, however, that her offer to send them with nothing in return was particularly generous. Imagine my surprise, then, when the books arrived and it wasn’t just a couple of Penguin 60s, but ten Penguin 60s and all of them joined together in a box set case. Thank you! I like the 60s because they’re cute and it’s easy to slip one into your bag for the bus or a waiting room. It’ll take me a while to get through all ten of them though…

By the way, Inkognitoh, did you know Penguin has just released a new series – Penguin 70s - to celebrate their 70th anniversary??
