Lord of the Rings Trilogy

This book is... what... Victorian... Baroque... in it's RICH detail. The characters are complex and change over time. Very dynamic. Very real, but very escapist. Like living in a painting of words (or visiting at least). Something for everyone in all of Tolkein's writings.
I am thus far pleased with the film based on this trilogy. I began reading The Hobbit and the trilogy to my son (9 y/o) last fall. He is as hooked as I. I've enjoyed reading it out loud after three readings to only myself over the years.
