Caroline Kelley is the client. A bright, unconventional, wryly amusing young woman who's lived a complicated life and is now struggling to overcome her nightmares come true.

Hannah Burke is the therapist. A brilliant, strong, attractive woman who is forced to reexamine her own demons in order to help Caroline.

Other Women is the compelling, superbly told new novel by Lisa Alther, bestselling author of Kinflicks.

Obviously written quite a few years ago, based on certain references made in the book, I was amazed at how relevant this book still is, decades later. The characters of Caroline and Hannah could be anyone - they seem so real to me, as if I know them, or at least, aspects of them. I was disappointed when the book ended, mostly because I wanted to know that Caroline and Hannah were doing well, and that they were successful in their long-term healing.
