The book is about the young catholic Cal who grows up in Northern Ireland in the 1980s and is drawn into the violent fight for a united Ireland. It's also a surprisingly sensitive love story.
I would say it'S a book for young adults to read, but even though I don't consider myself as one anymore, I liked it and found it rather well written.

my ex bf used to tell me about this book saying i missed a lot because i haven't read it yet.. on the other hand he never enjoyed reading that much as to have a lot of books to compare to this one... well, i'm curious about what's expecting me...
since i kept this book forever without actually reading it, i decided to release it into the wild again...
