At his mother's funeral, retired bank manager Henry Pulling, meets his aunt Augusta for the first time in over fifty years. He leads a very calm and surburban life while his aunt is a restless and travelling soul. When she persuades Henry to come on one of her trips, a new way of life opens up for Henry.

I had just read Alan Bennett's House Arrest when I started this one and kept hearing Bennett's total dismissal of Graham Greene both as a person and writer, although, if I remember correctly, Bennett hasn't actually read any of Greene's work. Haha.
