Tears of the Giraffe

The second book in the series is just as good as the first (The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency). A theme is emerging here, the reunification of lost children with their families. And Mma Ramotswe has at last found the love she deserves. Her continued generosity and insight make for another great day's reading. These books are quick, happy reads. Enjoy!

Synopsis
The No.1 Ladies´ Detective Agency introduced the world to the one and only Precious Ramotswe -the engaging and sassy owner of Botswana´s only detective agency. In Tears of the Giraffe Mma Ramotswe faces a new challenge: resolving a mother´s pain for her son who is long lost on the African plains. Mma Ramotswe´s own impending marriage to the most gentlemanly of men, Mr J.L.B. Matekoni, the promotion of Mma´s secretary to the dizzy heights of Assistant Detective, and the arrival of new members to the Matekoni family, all brew up the most humorous and charmingly entertaining of tales.
My thoughts:
Another sweet, soft Precious Ramotswe mystery. I love this series. They are so uncomplicated and relaxing to read (in contrast to the nail-biting Harlan Coben that I am also in the middle of). The ambiance of them reminds me a bit of life here in India; no schedule, no routine, no stress, no worries. And yet life here is far from boring; filled with people and events and small dramas; an endless rolling landscape that never fails to fill time and make life interesting. Okay. Yes it does make me want to scream in frustration at times and long for my mundane Minnesota existence, but nobody would ever call life in India bland. I am sure it is not too far from life in Africa.
Thanks for sharing and sorry it took so long to work its way to the top of the pile. I will pass it on here in India.
