The Great War: Breakthroughs

I bought this book new in December 2003, and read it in January 2004.
The entire series consist of:
How Few Remain
The Great War: American Front
The Great War: Walk In Hell
The Great War: Breakthroughs
American Empire: Blood and Iron
American Empire: The Center Cannot Hold
American Empire: The Victorious Opposition
Settling Accounts: Return Engagement
Settling Accounts: Drive to the East
Settling Accounts: The Grapple
Settling Accounts: In At the Death
This is the final volume of The Great War series, set in an alternate history line with an independent Confederate States of America. The books do not stand alone, but are part of one continuous story. The time is 1915, and the Confederacy has sided with England, France, and Russia against the Union, Germany, and Austria-Hungary. World War I is fought in North America. In this conclusion, most of the many storylines are actually, gratefully, finally, brought to a close - and yet the stage is set for the next war, which parallels World War II, in another three books. I think I've had enough of this concept to last me for a while, and this is a good place to quit the series.
