I got this from a friend who's usually good at recommending books. I saw her spend half a night reading this, which of course seemed promising! And yep, it got me too - I spent my free day reading it, not wanting to stop.

The fact that the author is married to Paul Auster also speaks well on her behalf. She has an enjoyable way of writing, mostly realistic, and maybe I'm artsy-intellectual enough for this book (this refers to the comments of some other bookcrossers) but the discussions and the environment didn't feel too distant even if I never had contact with the New York art&academic scene...(As someone else also said, the descriptions of pieces of art left me a bit cold, though.)

Towards the end, there are descriptions of inexplicable violence, both physical and mental. Those were very uncomfortable to read - which must have been the intention, too. Both phenomenons puzzle us daily in the news, if we had the luck of avoiding them in our own life so far. There seems to be no absolute solution for those problems, and this story doesn't have them either. Still, it's also about how to continue living and feeling alive despite those things, and about how difficult it is. And, as the name says, about love. I felt the sadnesses of the characters and hoped for the best until the end of the book - but I also liked the realism: some emotions can't be finished, and some knots between people can't be opened, even with the best intention and solving efforts.

I'm going to mail this book over to another bookcrosser friend soon.

Well, basically I din´t really find this book, as in the bookrossing sense of the word, though I did find it indeed - in an envelope addressed to me.. :)
I have no real comments about the book as I haven´t even started reading it! I have so many other books lying around me to be read that i wonder when I´ll have the time to start with this one!!
