The first Harry Bosch book I read was "Black Echo", which also happened to be the first Harry Bosch book. By strange coincidence, I got this book from my Dad, and I think it's the most recent in the series. The problem, of course, is that twenty or so years have passed between the two. Catching up was just part of the problem; I also found that Harry had mellowed considerably in the beginning of the story, which was kind of odd. Anyway, he toughened up as time went on, and the story is certainly complex enough to keep you guessing. It's a good addition to the series.
