I found this hardcover in this Little Free Library in Dracut MA while dropping off some books of my own.

The book's a tense thriller about a woman who, when only 12, was a witness in a case involving the disappearance of six teenaged girls - and whose testimony led to her own father's confession and conviction. She's now a psychologist in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and preparing for her own wedding, having struggled to cope with the family trauma of her past. But then a teenaged girl goes missing under circumstances reminiscent of the old series of crimes. And then another. And Chloe finds herself caught up in it all once again...

The story was quite intense, but I admit that - rarely, for me! - I guessed at least part of the truth long before it occurred to Chloe; not to blame her, or the investigating team, but from a reader's viewpoint it seemed fairly obvious where the first missing link was. Still, there are plenty of creepy-intense sequences - and one utterly fabulous twist that I did not see coming at all!

I left this book in this new-to-me Little Free Library; hope someone enjoys it!
