Thank you very much Edwardstreet, the book arrived safely in Delphi, Greece a couple of days ago, while I was away. It's now in my hands and on Mt To Be Read it goes : )

Books that are kind of "stream of consciousness" narrations can go either way for me.

I liked the esoteric, poetic language of The Hours and there were parts of the book that I liked. There are thoughts and dilemmas that all people might go through some time in their lives or troubles and mental issues that many people face too. But all this self-awareness, self-observation, contemplations and navel-gazing, all the melancholic mood got a bit too much for me and sometimes I felt really bored. The same happened actually when I read the original Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf.

Maybe having a bit more action, less gaps to Mrs Browns story for example, or a bit more history of the characters on "Mrs. Dalloway"'s chapters, would have made this more lively and captivating. What can I say about the chapters on Virginia Woolf her self? She is an author and personality that has been studied and used by other authors so many times, that I wish they would finally let her rest in peace. The chapters about her went as all the book went for me, some chapters were more captivating than others, but offering nothing new.
Some sort of conclusion and plot twist on the end kind of makes sense, but wasn't too impressive either.

A decent book but not so great. Or maybe I wasn't in the right mood to read this?

The Hours got itchy feet again and want to explore the whole wild wide world. So the book is now travelling north across Europe in order to meet one of the winners of my 7th Bookiversary's Celebration Draw.
And then... Who knows?

There has been severe floods and some rain on the island of Holbox for most of my stay, so it's been difficult to find a release spot. Finally found this stage with nice paintings & a roof on their central square, that'll do for now!
