I got this hardcover at the Tyngsborough Public Library book sale. It's an anthology focusing on female vampires, with contributions from some of my favorite authors. Notable stories include:
Neil Gaiman's "Snow, Glass, Apples" - a dark re-imagining of the story of Snow White, with an interesting explanation for her pale skin and red lips {grin}.
"Bite-me-not or, Fleur de Feu", by Tanith Lee, is a lyrical tragic romance, with its own kind of vampires, a tragic family history, a curse - oh, all sorts of elements, blended together beautifully.
Tanya Huff's "This Town Ain't Big Enough", which I first read in Blood Bank, about vampires duking it out over territory.
Stephen King's "One for the Road," which takes place in a small town outside the vampire-haunted Jerusalem's Lot, some years after the events of Salem's Lot.
"Sister Death" by Jane Yolen, about an ancient blood-drinking entity who encounters far worse things in the death camps of WWII - but may just have achieved some kind of redemption.

I left this book, bagged against the elements, on one of the stone benches along the edge of Lovewell Pond, past the handsome array of sculptures. Hope someone enjoys the book!
