My review: I bought this after hearing about it on A Good Read on Radio 4. It sounded really entertaining and fun. It did not disappoint.

Another great read from Bauer who never disappoints. "Exit" is the tale of Felix , an elderly man who is an "Exiteer" ie: he performs the compassionate act of being with the dying in their final minutes so they do not die alone. However, on a visit with a new partner, things go terribly wrong & when the police arrive, Felix finds himself on the run.

What follows is a darkly humorous tale as Felix, wracked with guilt, tries to put right the "error". It's a story full of misunderstandings, coincidences & misdirection but Bauer's clever writing & wry sense of humour means the improbable situations are amusing rather than becoming farcical.

It's a really good read & surely the one to bring Bauer to our TV screens - what a great mini-series this would make.
