The box of RABCKs arrived safely on this blustery, cold day; many thanks! This is one I've read before - I was devoted to the webcomic while it was active - and I'm delighted to have another release copy.

This is a simply wonderful collection of comic strips about the employees of a public library - much book-type humor here! Lots of entertaining entries, from the viewpoints of a book-lover, a library afficionado, and a gamer-geek as well: Includes issues like whether or not (and how) libraries should limit access to questionable materials ("Okay, Internet filtering software doesn't always work. Maybe leaving this up to computers is the wrong approach. This is a job for librarians! Get Colleen - we'll filter the Internet ourselves!" "You want personally to review TWO BILLION web pages? Although without those Britney Spears sites there are a lot fewer." "'Buns of Steel'?" "That's a keeper."); there are tidbits about specific books, as in the strip recommending Christopher Moore's Lamb to a young guy looking for a book set in Biblical times: "[Lamb] asks the question, 'What if Christ had an obnoxious childhood pal?'" As the young guy's friend is busily demonstrating obnoxiousness ("HOTTY ALERT!!!") he notes "I think I can relate to that..."

And the librarians have their own methods of recreation, as in the strip where Dewey, in a suit and bowler, is waving a furled umbrella around, and baffling the other librarians - until he admits he's prepping for an "Avengers" convention - the Steed-and-Mrs.-Peel Avengers, not the Marvel ones {grin}.

Yes, it's geeky. I love it!

[There's a TV Tropes page for the webcomic, with some entertaining tidbits.]
