Wild Animus
3 journalers for this copy...
Received this book on 4/15/04, as part of the BookCrossing free book give away. It sounds very interesting on the cover, I hope it follows through. I will journal again when I'm finished.
Finally worked my TBR pile and read this one. This book was definitely not my style. I really did not enjoy the stream of consciences writing and musing. I could not get into the paragraphs of spiritual ram stuff. The communication is not getting to me that the Ram is a religion icon. The character of Sam (Ranson) is on a self-destruction path. But, for what purpose? It’s not for art, or music, some of the more usual self-destruction reasons. Religion? I’m not sure what religion, the Ram is? I feel that his lady sees it but she loves him and thinks he will satisfy himself and move on. But, it is when she gets him to come off the mountain for the party and sees the others feeding off him and him spiraling farther that I feel she realizes she has lost him. I am glad that she does not go down with him.
