Ok, I feel as if I've kept these books too long.

I'd like to congratulate Michael Moore on all the awards and the record breaking premiere of his new film.

I recently brought these books to a local high school where I was a guest at the viewing of 'Bowling for Columbine' which was followed by a debate on the second ammendment of the US constitution.

As I was reading these books I often found myself quoting Michael ("you know Michael Moore says......") when in conversations about the state of the world. I felt as if I were like a born again christian quoting the bible. Eeeeks scary!

I'm interested in what other people think about these books. Ok MM goes a bit far sometimes, but he's got some points that don't seem to be mentioned elsewhere.

Anybody interested in a discussion send me a PM.

Thanks again elhamisabel for this bookring.

I'm sending them off to Germany ASAP. Enjoy!

Just as good as “Stupid White Men“, the book shares all the qualities of its predecessor, without being a cheap rip-off. Provocative and entertaining. I believe even those who don’t agree with Moore will at least find some of their viewpoints challenged.

What I like about Moore is an admirable, perhaps typically American quality that he ascribes to Oprah Winfrey, but that also applies to himself: the “belief in the power of the individual to change the world”. Unlike most German authors would have done, he doesn’t stop with analysing the situation and complaining about how bad things are, but gives some very simple and direct advice to what the reader can and should do to make things change: “Dude, where’s your country? It’s right outside your window, waiting for you to bring it home.”

Comes in handy that, over here, Fahrenheit 9/11 has come to the cinemas only this week. I just can’t wait to go see it.

Goes off to JuditBK tomorrow, together with Stupid White Men.

I'm really looking forward to reading this book as soon as I have finished "Stupid White Men". I greatly enjoid "Bowling for Columbine" and "The big one", but these are the first books by Michael Moore I'm going to read.
