The Clockwork Scarab

I think this is the first steam punk book I've read and it's quite enjoyable.
Evaline Stoker and Mina Holmes never meant to get into the family business. But when you're the sister of Bram and the niece of Sherlock, vampire hunting and mystery solving are in your blood. And when two society girls go missing, there's no one more qualified to investigate.
Set in Victorian London, this is a fun read weaved with action, brilliant sleuthing, romance, Egyptology, and yes even time travel. There are still a lot of dangling ends, unlike regular mystery series where each story stands on its own. Can't wait to read the rest of the series, and see which gentlemen the ladies end up with.
I have planned to read this for the vampire book box, but I am now not sure if there are any vampire in it. Nonetheless, a book about Bram Stoker's sister probably deserves to be in the box. Maybe in the next book of the series she'll be staking an army of undead.

This book rode to the end of the box, and has now joined my shelf. It sounds like a fun romp!
(I was interested to read the label from this book's previous life in Sunrise Little Free Libraries. I've seen a couple LFLs that ran like traditional lending libraries, where books were supposed to go back to the lender after reading, but this sounds like a mini-network of LFLs operating on that idea.)

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Left on the windowsill with books and magazines.
I read this, but didn’t add a review earlier. It was an entertaining, light YA adventure. The characters and relationships aren’t particularly creative, but it is easy to be swept up in the general excitement and find yourself well into the middle of the plot.
