I had a fair crack at this one given that I find much of Dowrick's non-fiction writing quite thought-provoking. However I really found this pretty hard going...much of the dialogue isn't really dialogue but monologue that sounds a lot like 'analysis out loud'. Some interesting aspects but I find on the whole I prefer the psychology to stay in her non-fiction books.

I agree with running-gal! I too found this hard going. It wasn't helped though that halfway through I took it to work to read and then left it there, and it was almost a week before I worked again to pick it up. That disruption meant it was even more disjointed than it probably would have been.

I am sending this book on to Inoz as part of a pile of books in return for books she sent me. Thank you!

Another book lost on the way to Inoz! Very weird. I picked this up as one of five books on offer from freecycle. Will probably release at my local OBCZ.
