I picked this up today at the Filson. It looked lonely sitting in the windowsill & I thought it sounded like a good book. I'm looking forward to reading it soon:)

I'm taking this book with me to read on my vacation. I'll probably release it somewhere after I finish.

Journal Entry 5 by Morgail from Louisville, Kentucky USA on Wednesday, March 23, 2005
Read this while on vacation. Very odd to read about murder and dark tenement buildings and disorderly houses while sitting in the sun on vacation. Still, I really liked this book. It reminded me of a psychological CSI, set in 1896. I especially enjoyed the setting...New York during the Progressive Era--my favorite time period in American history. I intended to release this book while on vacation, but my husband became interested in it. So it came back with us so he can read it also.

Journal Entry 6 by Protooni from Louisville, Kentucky USA on Sunday, January 22, 2006
This book was good until it dawned on me that this author was driving me down a very narrow street. This book was going in one direction and it was painfully obvious how it was going to end. I did enjoy the rich descriptions of turn-of-the-century New York. I just don't get into period novels very well. Where were the lasers?
