Patrick McMAnus is by far the all time world champion record holding humor writer of all time. Take any humorous writer, Piers Anthony, Douglas Adams, Dave Barry, Neil Gaiman, James Thurber, George Carlin, Terry Pratchett that's all I can think of right now, and they don't hold a candle to McManus. Then again that's merely my opinion. On the other hand, During long car trips, I have read articles of his aloud to my wife, who had to tell me to stop because I was in danger of hitting somebody. (just kidding, I only read to her when she is driving.) Still despite the fact that McManus is mostly an outdoorsman/sportsman writer, she has never failed to laugh at anything I've read to her.

That tells me his humor is universal. Because my wife rarely get's my sense of humor. Maybe because it's mostly directed at her. (again kidding.) I would reccomend everybody reading at least one McMannus Book, and it doesn't matter much which, even his cookbook is entertaining. This, as most of his books are, is a collection of articles written for outdoors type magazines. While Hunting and Fishing is a predominant theme, it is not the only theme, and mostly the articles center around character and personalities. Perhaps, even probably, exaggerated, but still personalities everybody knows, and can laugh at. Well worth looking into, for everybody. (heck if my wife and I can agree on it, I'm posotive everybody in the world can enjoy it.)
