I enjoyed this book and learned a lot. It is heavily laden with much information - about geology, continental drift, plate tectonics, insects, weather, hundreds of years of colonial history, religion... It was a lot to wade through, and I wouldn't exactly call it a page-turner. But I hope I'm a little smarter after having read it.
