Dr. Lara Mallory opened up her medical practice in Eden Pass, Texas where Tackett Oil owns everything. Because of her scandal with Senator Clark Tackett, her practice is almost none existent. When Clarks younger brother, Key comes to her clinic in the middle of the night with a gun shot wound, she sees someone who will help her in her quest to find out what happened to her daughter. There's a lot more to this story than I'll write about, you'll have to read it yourself to find out the turn of events. A very good read!!
