Journal Entry 1 by Nu-Knees from Knaresborough, North Yorkshire United Kingdom on Sunday, April 8, 2018
My friend and and neighbour, who BookCrosses as Blower, offered me a free hand to help myself from a bag of 20 books given her by another friend, all unregistered. This is one of the half a dozen I've taken to try, without giving any guarantee that I'll actually read it, of course!
I chose this one because I seem to remember hearing good things about it from readers whose opinion I value and it looks pleasantly easy to read, nothing too serious :-)

A beautiful story, beautifully told.
To be returned to Blower with my strongest recommendation that she read and enjoy it :-)
Note: Don't miss the Lost Chapter at the end of the book, after the acknowledgements and about the author and adverts and such like . . .

Returned from my friend and neighbour Nu-Knees so decided to give it a go.
"Readers looking for some undemanding, old-fashioned storytelling with a sprinkling of magic will find it here." - Kirkus reviews
This was a lovely read with appealing characters except for Portia!
Really enjoyed it though wasn't sure at first.
