I actually bought this book from a thrift store. Partly because I've always wanted to read it, and partly because of the inscription on its front cover. Less than a dozen words, the hand-written note tells more of a story than the book itself. I felt that the best way to honor that story was to keep the pattern of passing it along -- maybe someday it will find itself back in the hands of its rightful owner, and the story will have a happy ending. s.
