Synopsis:
Ally D'Apliese is about to compete in one of the world's most perilous yacht races, when she hears the news of her adoptive father's sudden, mysterious death. Rushing back to meet her five sisters at their family home, she discovers that her father - an elusive billionaire affectionately known to his daughters as Pa Salt - has left each of them a tantalising clue to their true heritage.
Ally has recently embarked on a deeply passionate love affair that will irrevocably change her destiny. But with her life now turned upside down, she decides to leave the open seas and follow the trail that her father left her, which leads her to the icy beauty of Norway.
There, Ally begins to discover her roots - and how her story is inextricably bound to that of a young unknown singer, Anna Landvik, who sang in the premiere of Peer Gynt, set to Grieg's iconic music, over a hundred years before. As Ally learns more about Anna, she begins to question who her father really was. And she starts to wonder why her seventh sister is missing...
Following the bestselling The Seven Sisters, this is the second book in Lucinda Riley's spellbinding series, based loosely on the mythology surrounding the famous star constellation.

Ally's story was no less dramatic than Maia's but there was more lighter moments and more information on four different generations in Ally's family. So far this is my favourite book of the series so far.
I'm hoping Star's story will be less dramatic and lighter in events with more fun adventures.

This has arrived safely in the very rainy Swiss Alps, where it joins another ring or two. Term time has just begun so that means loads of work for me, but I look forward to reading this soon. Thanks for sending!

This is the second in the Seven Sisters series, picks up the story of Ally. It's here as a bookcrossing spiral and I am happy for the chance to read these.
The first book took us to Montparnasse and Brasil, to the construction of the famous statue of Christ in Brasil and the artists in Paris who worked on it. It also introduced us to Brasilian society and the rigid society rules for certain classes.
This one takes us to a very different universe, and I greatly appreciated the voyage. First the world of competitive sailing, and then a deep plunge into music and Norway and Grieg and his entourage. I think I appreciated this one even more than the first.
I have my suspicions about Pa Salt but won't create spoilers here (although if I don't actually know, is it a spoiler?).
After the strange phone call from Tiggy to Ally, I was surprised that the next up is Star, but I suppose the series follows the sisters by birth order (or adoption order). In this I did see the situation with Thom from their first encounter... and was glad it was so.
An enjoyable journey, part of which I chose to have Grieg's music as a background (although I don't generally read to music). I will confirm that the next address remains unchanged.

This now leaves the Swiss Alps for the UK. Thanks for making this available, and sending. Enjoy!
This arrived safe and sound (and surprisingly early in the day for my postman) in London! Thanks so much I’m really looking forward to reading this. As soon as I finish my current read I will get in to this one.
This book finds out the origins of Ally D’Aplièse, the second eldest sister. It’s a pretty epic saga which takes her to some beautiful places through some very dark personal times. Once the story got going, I could see the direction of the plot and some of the twists. The journey getting there was so engaging, I didn’t mind. However, I felt the author fudging time scales towards the slightly unbelievable to make things happen. What I loved about this book/the series is the clever narrative which mixes fascinating places and historical events with the characters created by the author for this series. Really looking forward to continuing with the series to see where it’s all going. I already have my suspicions. There were some more clues laid out in this one, for the grand scheme of things (including historical references hidden to Pa Salt’s identity).
Packing ready to post to the next reader (tomorrow morning when post office is open again). Safe travels book.
I am enjoying this series very much, & this one didn't disappoint. I'm pretty much in agreement with the previous posters' comments, so won't repeat the same thoughts here.
