Synopsis
========
Simple story written in the first person through the eyes of a young boy as he works with his parents picking cotton on the family farm in the mid-west during a fall sometime in the 50's.
Mainly concentrates on the conflict between the visiting Mexicans and hill people who help pick the cotton and the families constant battle against the tide of debt that threatens to engulf them. Our protagonist opens our eyes to the simple life and the pleasures derived from anything that breaks the monotony of cotton picking and focuses especially on his love of baseball which he listens to faithfully on the radio - having only ever seen a game on a television on one occassion.

Comments
========
Not for anyone who likes a lot to happen. It crawls at a snails pace and doesn't really go very far. However as a simple story that provides an insight into the simple life of a boy growing up on a farm - can't be faulted and if that is your bag then go get it.
