"Nothing links person to person like the frequent passage from hand to hand of a good book."
WWW:Watch picks up the story where WWW:Wake left off. The first book set the stage with the development of WebMind, with the various story threads that had to come to together eventually, like Hobo's story, Caitlin's sight and websight, and the world becoming aware of WebMind.
I thoroughly enjoyed the characters. The array of topics covered is astounding: computer programming, theism vs atheism, game theory, autism, world politics, privacy vs. transparency, fear of emerging artificial intelligence, rights of non-human sentient beings like apes, and of course the coming of age of a 16-year-old girl.
The first book had to set up all of the threads, but this book did an awesome job of pulling it all together. I had a hard time putting it down. Now on to #3. Nobody tells a good techie story like Sawyer.
A wandering book -- the karma of literature!
