This is a book about a very urban couple who have a dream to one day buy a farm and escape city life. They search the weekend classifieds and go on farm hunting drives in the country. They never really thought their dream would come true until one summer afternoon they stumble upon the farm they thought only existed in their imagination. Buying the farm and living on the farm turn out to be two entirely different things and Laskas chronicles the heartwarming and heartbreaking stories of the colorful two-legged and four-legged creatures she and Alex encounter on what they grow to call Sweetwater Farm.

An excellent book! This funny and heartwarming and relatable book chronicles the author's journey, inner and outer, from City Person to Country Person. I laughed and cried in diferent parts and loved the descriptions of Marley the Poodle and others. Just a truly delightful read.

This came to me, but I don't remember how or when! I just started reading it and discovered the BC label on the dedication page! Sorry for not registering it earlier. Did I get this as a trade or in a book box???? In any event, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Read half last night and am heading to bed to read more now. :)
