Excellent book. Exciting and historical (did I mention those together?). The Columbian Worlds Expo in Chicago. Very good. recommend.
Informative glimps into an important moment in America's history and architecture. A wonderful read. However, I didn't think that the book would've needed the murder mystery as an addition to the story line. The book would've held its reader with just the story of the World's Fair. Highly recommend the book.
Oops, haven't registered my scores from last Sunday. Received 8/1 at Haleiwa get-together.
Not a smooth read. Two separate stories are barely held together because they occurred in the same city at the same time.
Back to TOC, 9/25/05. No takers.
To bkind2books, 9/27

Thanks, Grace - I got it yesterday! Mahalo!
Very enjoyable - I thought the intertwining of the stories added to this story making it ultimately a story of the two sides of Chicago and of the two sides of Man (embodied by Burnham and Holmes). The historical tidbits made the fair come alive - the Chicago Worlds Fair seems to embody the late 19th century - its best and its worst. Recommended.
