We have all visited them: old family homes turned into museums. Fascinating to visit, but even more fascinating to learn what goes on behind the scenes. A first hand account of a couple living in such a home, and all that goes on after hours to keep the grand old house in top shape as well as the funny stories we never hear or imagine.
Very much enjoyed this memoir of a couple serving as houseman and wife at a National Trust house in England.
