Two stories in one: a true crime account of a serial killer, and a record of the planning, building and maintenance of the Chicago World's Fair. A pretty easy read, quite a page turner, although the author's style of constantly hinting of things to come can be a bit tedious. To be released...

I was happy for the opportunity to read this novel. I enjoyed the history and the inventiveness of the creators of the "White City" in Chicago paralleled with the madness of a monster. It got a little bogged down for me but for the most part it was a really good read. Interesting to read how some of our inventions like the ferris wheel came about also.

Received (in trade) from Orchidfancier, with thanks! Looks intriguing - will add to Mount TBR and try to get to soon-ish... Will release at Derby Meetup once read, unless requested elsewhere, first.

I fell totally out of the bookcrossing loop last year and have lots of books that have been sitting unread on my shelf for too long now, this being one of them. I'm now getting everything back to normal but am having to prioritise very carefully what I set myself to read, so I am sending this as an RABCK to sunlightbub who has had this book on her wishlist for some time. Hope you enjoy it!

A completely unexpected RABCK! Thank you tangledthreads. I hope I'll get to it soon so it can continue it's journey as I know it's a popular book.

Thanks so much for the suprise! I must admit I opened the parcel and couldn't think where it had come from so rushed straight to the computer to find out!!

THis one is moving again!
