I loved Volume 1 of this quirky webcomic, and when I came across this good-condition softcover of the 3rd volume I had to pick it up. It continues the story of stolid little wombat Digger as she continues her travels, tries to evade the things that are trying to kill her, and attempts to educate the increasingly-active Shadow Child as to the advantages of being good over being evil (which involves teaching the difference, not an easy task). We meet some new characters, including a very martial shrew who's in charge of a troll bridge (and has an interesting relationship with the trolls); we find out what's beneath the masks of the sinister beings that are hunting our heroine; and we get more delightful - and sometimes heart-wrenching - conversations between Digger and everyone else, including the Shadow Child, Ed the exiled hyena, Grim Eyes the hyena war-leader, Ganesh the elephant-headed god...

And don't miss the tiny details tucked away in some panels, such as the snails with picket signs saying "Equal Time 4 Slime".
