From the book:

"Mel and Fran can't believe it when their old schoolfriend Amanda, Satan's very own PR girl, pulls off the ultimate publicity stunt in getting herself engaged to a Scottish laird. [...] Something must be done... Gentle, decent Fraser is clearly ignorant of her wiles, and Mel and Fran, still smarting from the memory of all the mean things Amanda put them through in their days at Portmount Comprehensive, set out to sabotage this mismatch of the century."

I enjoy a light read as much as the next person, and this book has some funny moments. Overall I couldn't get into it, though, because I didn't find the lead characters very sympathetic. From their actions, I couldn't tell which one was the evil witch. Also, the lead character had touching moments with the younger brother throughout the book, but still the titled brother is the one she ended up with--rather formula driven.

I found this book in the ladies toilet of a boat that was travelling down the Rhein river towards Mainz. It looked like just my kind of book and was relieved to see that it was in English, as I am Irish not German! I plan to leave the book (once I've read it) in the seat pocket of a flight going from Frankfurt to Milan in a few weeks..........
