I picked this up in Dublin to register in memory of Whiteraven13 who died last month. Whiteraven13 was a big lover of history, even going so far to create her own site to find and log historic plaques, markers, and items of historical interest and I hope she would have enjoyed this book.
I read this book in January of this year, and wrote the following about it then:
"I finished this book yesterday and am still trying to think of what I thought about it. I whizzed through it, and found the stories fascinating. As someone who was alive before the wall came down, but don't remember it happening (I was only 4), I find it shocking that things like this happened (and are still happening I'm sure) within my lifetime. Something that scares me a little is how easy it was to for Anna to find victims of the Stasi to tell her their stories.
To be honest, I didn't like Anna very much at the beginning, but I did grow to admire and respect her the more I read."

Part of a super raffle prize which included German sweets popular in the GDR. A very interesting prize. This book also looks interesting. Thank you discovery-lover. I am old enough to remember the wall coming down and life before that, though have never visited that part of Germany.
Good to see you at yet another convention. Might see you in Athens next year.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Taking to the Bookcrossing meeting
I should have read this years ago as it was a book group read but I somehow didn't get round to it then, even though I fully intended to. I remember it had excellent reviews and I think it won a prestigious prize.
