This book tells the parallel, and ultimately intersecting, stories of a murderer who almost committed a perfect crime and an impulsive inventor working on wireless communication. We get to know these two men and their triumphs and downfalls before they make their marks in the history books, then we shift to the dramatic manhunt and the talents of new technology.
Larson does a great job immersing the reader, particularly in Crippen's tale. Marconi tends to a rather volatile and unlikeable fellow, which makes it harder to emotionally engage in his story, but I loved the depiction of the scientific community and the complex relationships Marconi had with many people.

I enjoy the historical fiction genre . This is a book I enjoyed reading. How the book incorporates the evolution of wireless technology and some of the real life people was intriguing. As I am reading it is cold with a lot of New England snow on the ground. The book is only making me wish to be able to visit London (England) more. ThunderStruck is an enjoyable and informative read.
