Thanks for sending me this book. :-) It was very much appreciated.
And I loved the postcard also.

I didn't like this book as much as I thought I would. It was interesting and I suppose it made you think sometimes. But the husband and "Good News" got on my nerves a lot. Now that I think about it, if the book had been told from there POV they probably wouldn't have gotten on my nerves as much.
Releasing into MarciNYC's Bazillion Books Box. Enjoy!
Looks interesting and I've heard so much about Nick Hornby (I think he's friends with a friend, come to think of it) that this should be a good place to start.
Hmm. In the time that this has been here, waiting for me to read it, I've read A Long Way Down. I loved it.
So I felt like I had a better handle on Hornby as a writer. I was eager to pick this up and start on it.
Unfortunately, I feel so dissociated from the characters. I'm not relating to Kate at all, even though I'm trying, and when I can't relate to the characters, I don't connect to the book.
Sadly, this is going to be the first of the year that I didn't finish.
I'll be sending it off to another friend in a few days, as soon as I get her address.

Received as part of my Ballyswapper month! It's been on my wishlist so thank you for choosing this to book to send to me:)
