Just picked this one up...TBR
Excellent book about the homeless living in the subway tunnels below New York City. I started it thinking this would be a depressing book, and was shocked to realize that isn't the case. Most of these people have chosen to remove themselves from society, society didn't make that dicision for them as I first assumed. I had seen a documentary about this a few years ago, and was so excited when I found the book. Its excellent.

Well I must say this intriegued (sp?) me so much I couldnt help but read a little asap & now Im carrying the book around with me !! Already I feel the sadness of these people, yet also their strength & resilience (sp? again)...
I cant really imagine what life for America's homeless, coming from countries that have such amazing (in comparison) welfare systems & Im hoping that by reading the rest of this book Ill gain a much better understanding..

Ive held onto this for far too long. I thought someone would turn up at my house one day and notice it on the table - or maybe a conversation would come up that would remind me of the book and so I pass it on ... but thats not whats happened.. Therefor this wonderful book is going to continue on its way in true bookcrosser fassion..
