I found this 1966 hardcover bookclub edition at the swap shed of Nashua's Four Hills recycle center/landfill, and what with the snow and ice and all, thought it might make a suitably nostalgic (or perhaps just whiny!) release. [I read Knowles' "A Separate Peace" in high school - like almost everybody else my age, I suspect - but I'm afraid I didn't appreciate it much at the time; it seems terribly wasteful to me that so many books are forced on kids who aren't emotionally mature enough to understand them. This book, from the cover blurb, is about a young man who comes home after WWII and has to confront a wealthy and powerful family that tries to run the town - and him. Glancing through the book, I wasn't especially impressed, but perhaps someone else will enjoy it...]

I plan to release this somewhere inside the credit union - ideally in the entranceway - at around 1:30, assuming I can get the snow and ice scraped off of my car in time! I figured a little "Indian Summer" weather would feel nice right about now... ;-)
